Gold karat weight

A karat is the measurement of how pure an item made from gold is. Pure gold (24K) is too soft to make jewelry and is usually mixed with other alloys such as silver, copper, or zinc. The higher the karat is, the more % gold the item contains and the higher the value. Higher karat value gold items also have a brighter yellow color.
